Project and context

EcoCharge started with the analysis of an internal problem: employees needed a quick way to see which office chargers were available, occupied or defective. I completed the full journey myself, from scope, user stories and tests to Figma, logos and code.

Secure access without another account

The mobile app used Microsoft authentication so employees could sign in with their existing company account. Session data was stored securely on the device and signing out cleared the local data again.

From secured source to clear overview

The main technical challenge was retrieving current charger data from a secured source and translating it into a calm mobile overview. Each location shows capacity, occupancy, defects and the latest refresh time.

A status summary and individual chargers combine overview with detail.

Same information, different preferences

The selected screens show the difference between dark and light modes and between Dutch and English. Information and controls deliberately remain in the same place on both screens.

My role

I was responsible for the complete product: analysis, user stories, UX flows, Figma designs, visual identity, implementation and tests. This let me test design decisions directly against technical reality.

Main challenge

When changed circumstances prevented the mobile app from launching, I built a web variant in four days. An automated data flow periodically published JSON that was displayed inside SharePoint.

Result

The result was both a developed cross-platform app and a usable web alternative for the internal environment. EcoCharge shows how I independently turn an unclear problem into a tested and recognisable product.
