Privacy statement
This statement explains which information the portfolio processes, why it is needed and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Who is responsible?
Jarno Hennes is responsible for the personal data submitted through this portfolio. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to contact@jarbyte.net.
Which information is processed?
The contact form asks for your name, email address, subject and message. The site also stores your chosen language and theme locally in your own browser. It does not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why is it processed?
The information is used only to answer your message, follow up on a professional question and retain relevant agreements or correspondence. It is not used for advertising or mailing lists.
Web3Forms and hCaptcha
Two external services are necessary to deliver and protect the form:
- Web3Forms receives the form submission and forwards it to my mailbox. Web3Forms states that submissions are stored for 30 days on its free plan and for one year on its Pro plan, after which they are automatically deleted.
- hCaptcha checks whether a submission is made by a person and helps prevent spam. It may process technical and interaction data such as an IP address, device information and interaction with the verification widget.
These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Their own privacy information explains the safeguards they use.
How long is correspondence kept?
Messages and related contact details are kept for as long as they remain reasonably relevant to following up the question, previous agreements, a possible collaboration or an existing professional relationship. They are not used for marketing and are not kept when there is no longer a reasonable purpose.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, restriction or deletion of your personal data, or object to its use. A deletion request will normally be honoured unless the information must still be retained for a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim.
